Message from the President November 2001 -- By Jill Gallagher I can’t believe summer is over...I did have a great one with all my traveling, visiting Pygora people all over. Last issue I told you about traveling to New Mexico and the National Goat Association Convention, well September I traveled up to Oregon for the Oregon Flock and Fiber Festival which takes place in the town of Canby Oregon. This is the second time I have drove to this event and it is well worth the 1,660 mile round trip drive. The event is only one weekend long but it can easily spread to a week long. There is just so much to do and see. I did have a great time and a big thank you to the dedicated people that donate their time and talent to this super event. We have had some changes on the Board in the last month. Jackie Liner and Renee Elting have both resigned. We will miss them both on the board. Both of this Ladies terms were up in June of 2002 along with Darlene Chambers. So, if you are interested in applying for a board position, please fill out the application. And if you would like a duty statement of this job, please contact me, or Inga, and we can send you one. We also have an opening for Show Secretary and we have a duty statement for that job as well, so please ask. It is also time to send in your information for the Breeders Book if you are interested in adding your farm to this great book. You also get your farm listed on the website. So for the small fee one pays for this, it is a bargain. We also have a matter that needs you the membership to vote on. We have a Bylaw change and addition. The board has pass this item and now it is your turn to decide if we, PBA, excepts this or not. So please look it over and don’t forget to vote. Wow this newsletter is full of stuff, and I almost forgot. We are on the look out for a newsletter editor. The newsletter comes out four times a year and it is our bloodline. We also have a duty statement for this job. Darlene Chambers and Yvonne McDonald have graciously volunteered to put this newsletter together as co-guest editors. Thank you Darlene and Yvonne. Remember if you would like to be included on the cc list as the board meetings are in session, you must tell me or a board member to include you. It is best to start at the beginning of the meeting as it is hard to add you after the meeting starts. Enjoy your Holidays!!! Jill
